This is actually quite good, so I will sleep soundly tonight, knowing I was outclassed fairly.

How do you sleep at night knowing that there are hundreds of thousands of 6 year olds who could beat you at chess?

listen, he wanted to do it, it's not like i forced him or anything like that. he just walked in on me when i was showering, and it must have intrigued him how much bigger mine was than his because he reached out and... oh wait, i thought that said "beat off." disregard this post

I feel good for the kid, I hope he will keep on writing poetry.

However I do believe that we tend to underestimate the abilities of children, and imagine a genius whenever a kid has some talent. Most of those kids end up disappointing everyone, because they're just slightly above average most of the time.

I sleep like a baby.
Me you, or Nael himself is never going to surpass this. There's plenty of kids out there that managed to write something brilliant. Almost none of them cultivate their writing later in life. This poem is a decade old at this point. Have you heard of Nael's newer works? No. And you won't. That isn't saying that this isn't one of the finest works of western literature of the 21st century, it absolutely is.

>> No.23147037

> Around this time, the poem began seeing more attention and analysis in the media. WTOP[7] covered the poem's virality in March 2018 and reached Nael for comment. Nael, now 8, said he was "super happy" his poem reached so many readers around the world.

Now he’s 14 if I’m not a mathlet
