What? What do you mean you've never read one of these books? It's 2024, we're not living in the 19th century anymore. There are so many great new books coming out every year. Open your mind.

Greetings from Kazahastan. I hate women so much it's unreal.

I will admit that one of the main reasons as to why I don't want to read any of those books is because I am sexist. Why am I sexist and to what extent? I don't respect women because I don't respect men, as in I don't respect them seperately. But I do treat them differently in small but significant ways. I do this because I think there are some temperamental and socio-cultural differences between us. Personally I don't think I have much to gain by reading works made by women because either A) it is about typically men oriented themes such as war, philosophy or adventure and I don't think most women have anything genuinly interesting to say about these things. Or B) it is about female oriented themes such as belonging, self-realization and interpersonal relationships. Things which I'm not very interested in reading about from a females perspective because I'm not female and from an essentialist perspective I can't put myself into their shoes. Sure it "may" do me some good to see things from another perspective but that already what I'm doing, I'm just not interested in hearing women talk about stuff they no nothing about or things that I have no need to know anything about.

Back then, I was like you but when I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo my mind changed. Sure, most women writers are not so good, but a few are gems

I tried reading Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. I'm like 8 chapters in and it is a chore to continue to read it. God I hate the main character lady so much. I hate snarky, quirky main characters.

Bet you felt really smart when you wrote that lol

The problem is not that people wont read good literature, it's that they're lazy.

They will just go to the book store and go into the section selling the new and "popular" books and pick something up.
