What does /lit/ recommend for books about "Belonging/Not Belonging" ?

It's for school and so far I've got "On The Road" as well as other Kerouac novels.

I know 'Belonging' is a bit of a gay topic but I'm trying to do the best I can with it, I appreciate the help.

Dude your first mistake was saying it was for school.
I will give you one ,but you really need to learn how to research on your own.

Yeah, you should do your own research. But since you asked, "Paradise Lost" and "Antigone" are about belonging/not belonging. If you want something a little more contemporary, try "American Fascists" or "I Don't Believe in Atheists" by Chris Hedges

It's for school, but finding out books about Belonging was not what I had to do, I still need to write thousands of words on it myself once I pick a book, just curious as to what people would recommend.
