I don't know about "pure sexual energy." To me, whorish and promiscuous women have pure sexual energy. What makes an intelligent woman attractive is refined mental energy and that the sexual energy is discernably repressed or sublimated--often even resulting in a noticeably clumsy appearance. I haven't read an author who adores the Greek world as much as she did. Even later in life when she softened and the Christian trespassed into her psyche, she never succumbed to it, she symbolically co-opted it back into her own exalted conceptions of the ancient world. I think she would be shocked at the social causes in vogue now, her poetry attests to it almost directly. I could've saved her.
