Another Frenchie seemed to think Jews came from India

>Chaldeans, Assyrians, Babylonians, Syrians, Phoenicians and Arabs therefore owe their origins to the different tribes of chandalas who emigrated from Hindustan at different times, during the long and bloody struggles of Brahmins and Buddhists. In turn, the Hebrews were the product of a Chaldean emigration. Egypt was the only one of these regions to be colonised by the high castes of Hindustan, so its social state, beliefs, worship and traditions were simply reproductions, copies of the customs of the motherland. The same priestly influences, the same caste divisions, the same impossibility of escaping from them, the same criminal law which, as in India, produced that crowd of outcastes and the same peoples who, as the Bible records, fled from Egypt with the Hebrews.

He actually says that the only original thing the Greeks came up with were the Platonic dialogues, which he dismisses as having "banal conclusions." And then he says everything good (mostly Aristotle's metaphysics) was actually a plagiarism of Indian crypto-Buddhism. Then he basically calls European civilization a bunch of retarded children and Indians and Arabs are the best.

Indian religious and linguistic history is for 19th century pseuds what computer science is for 21st century pseuds. Yes, it's a thing and it's interesting, but reducing all philosophy to it is the hallmark of the midwitted NPC.

The funny thing is that Guenon butchers the terminology of Aristotelian metaphysics which suggests that he never understood it at all. I lost a lot of respect for him after I went through the Organon and the Metaphysics.

Can anyone give me a quick summary of what I would be in for if I were to read Guenon, I assume google would give me a rather biased take. I only see him in circles that don't seem like circles I want any part in. But I did see a guy reading him on the metro today, so lets explore.

Hello Anon, I've briefly perused "The Crisis of the Modern World," a critical analysis of modernity. Additionally, the author's seminal work, "The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times," delves deeper into the critique of modernity. In his other writings, he explores the metaphysical dimensions of various doctrines and delves into symbolism. I recommend exploring "The Crisis of the Modern World" for a concise introduction; it's a short but insightful read. Cheers!

There’s nothing really political about Guenon whatsoever, he has 2-3 books that criticise modernity, especially the West, but even then it’s high level and barely political, as opposed to someone like Ellul. So anyone lumping Guenon alongside the so-called right or tradlarpers that latch on to him (of whom he would despise) can be completely ignored.

You're right but politically speaking he does have some loose ties to Synarchism but nothing concrete, though i believe that was one of the reasons he left for Egypt. I'm sure someone else could correct me or add more to that.

All civilization comes from Mesopotamia.
They created agriculture, which as an offshoot probably gave them access to a reliably producible psychedelic compound, most likely from a grain fungus.
This inspired informational techniques like writing and math, and of course mystical visions about the nature of reality. All that spread both eastwards and westwards and took shape as early Greek and early Indian philosophy.

If you knew more about ancient history you'd agree anon. Idea's were feverishly shared and adapted in ancient civilizations. You're just mad it makes the Greeks look less cool.
