I've read Flan by Stephen Tunney AKA Dogbowl recently, it's nothing special but I considered it a great and memorable book of a man and his fish experiencing a surrealist bosch-esque nightmare at the end of the world. Especially good when doubled with the album he released alongside it.

finding a copy outside of the internet archive is near-impossible though, i'm simply not shilling out 100+ shekels for a book

Retard here. One of my new year's resolutions was to read more. Read one book this month, and got halfway through a second.

Get a cheap kobo from ebay. I never read books and getting that thing made it so much easier to get some reading. I take it with me everywhere i go and if i have to wait somewhere i can whip the thing out and read. If you read half an hour every single day you read about 30 books a year.
This video does a good job of explaining how to read more without going nuts

While enjoyable at first, I couldnt get through M&M. Stopped at 50% because I couldnt give a single shit about anything it anymore. Also all the soviet commentary went completely over my head. But the book has very cool moments. I hope it does more for you than me and it gets you to the end. (This was the first time I dared not to force myself to finish a book)
