The funny thing is, the cable history channel is pretty much what our neoliberal western democracitc system wants us to see.

It makes me rage to watch another WW2 documentary, or space travel or some other 'safe' topic shown from a vanilla capitalist perspective.

Why are there no documentaries on for example, the Spanish civil war? Why no people's history on tv?

And when plebeians like in OP's post watch the history channel, they think they're being educated.
