What's the best translation there is? In the Gallimard version (in French) they criticized the Russel version for having lost much of the meaning through translating to the English language. What to do?

Wittgenstein completely approved C. K. Ogden's translation into English apparently. But if you're clever enough to read the Tractatus -- and you're good at languages rather than pure mathbod -- then you're clever enough to learn enough German to read the original. Get the bilingual C.K. Ogden one and follow along in German.
