I just finished this one. It's a fictional story about a guy who sets out to write a book about what people were doing when the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

In a not-too-distant future dystopian America, a dissident poet is imprisoned in a concentration camp where the prisoners are injected with an experimental drug which dramatically increases intelligence, memory, etc at the expense of rapid insanity and death. Its pretty good.
