Affects men the most because at least women are allowed to retain emotional intelligence and they have a tendency to be more studious at school during teenagehood, so they can't help but learn the basic stuff. There are still great individuals fighting against the current, but they too will drown eventually. At least newer generations aren't so deathly afraid of looking gay so maybe men will get the affection and emotional intelligence women benefit from. At least the rich ones, since the poor ones still have to contend with ghetto dwellers and their infamous opinion on homos. But the tendency towards glorifying stupidity will probably continue, as it serves the powerful too well and the powerful are only going to be getting more powerful as capitalism is designed that way (I'm sure your visceral, conditioned, reaction to one of the factual obvious flaws of capitalism being mentioned is to immediately start talking about the dead and thoroughly beaten horse that is communism despite nobody mentioning it, only proving my point about ignorance and us vs them being the only drivers of lesser men these days) and tech progress only strengthens their position.

I agree, but I think this superiority is context related rather than natural. Women have historically prioritized building social networks since this was their counterpower as opposed to men exercising violence. We are now in a society were violence is for the most part useless or shunned, so men end up having little to do.
What is left, however, is hundreds and hundreds of years of social training to violence and competition among men, which is now turning against them. Just as women after getting access to contraception and joining the work force are rewiring themselves to modern society, learning how certain attitudes (sociability especially) play in their favor, while others (lack of aggressiveness) sometimes play against them, men are also rewiring themselves. But it looks like they are having a harder time, because most of what they used to be valued for is disappearing or has already disappeared.
It's not that women are more sophisticated then men, therefore. They can both be socially engineered into sophistication by making them study a lot. Men historically have been less used to doing this, so it's harder for them now.
They are currently the dumber sex with no doubt, but this has shifted over history and can shift again.

Many men are struggling due to poor education and infrastructure in rural America. The majority of jobless men are those without high school diplomas. They are pining for labor - they want to work with their hands. I would not call that desire mediocrity, but they are competing with global blue-collar imports now.

Racism is a fairly common reaction to feelings of inferiority. Most African-Americans are not in the NFL and no studies support the idea that black people are "better at sports." You have chosen two groups of people to be angry at based on less than 1% of their total population.
