Books to learn how to stop loving the idea of doing something instead of just loving doing something in itself?

If by "loving the idea of doing something" you mean wanting to be recognized for doing it rather than wanting to do it, then I also want recommendations

oh you mean you like the idea of reading because it makes you seem intelligent or have a more refined taste to your social peers, yet in reality you almost never sit down to actually read anything at all? your masquerading is more important than the actual fulfillment? the patina you polish is brighter than the gold inside? that sort of thing?

if you're masquerading for real life friends you can separate yourself from them for a while, spend time on your own, become bored, and then you will automatically pursue activities for the sake of them. totally unplug from any social community and you'll learn to love solitude. learning to love solitude means learning to love boredom. learning to love boredom leads to progress and fulfilment.

if you're masquerading for a certain online forum, where your fellow posters are a majority mindless robots or mindless retards, and either way you don't know any of them on a personal level anyway. and you spend your time curating your taste and polishing your patina for individuals who will never know your name... well in that case, sheesh, this fucker hits it on the head >>22845988 and my second paragraph also applies

This. Your problem is that you keep putting intellectual layers between yourself and the world. Reading another book is just another layer. Literally the opposite of what you need.

Something along the lines. The thing is, I don't have social life so reputation and things like this shouldn't matter to me. Yet, I can't just enjoy something in itself instead of masturbating myself to the idea of this thing.

Don't say that. Books are all I have. Without books, I would rather be dead. I can't cope with reality. I'm just another fool who's waited too long to wake up to reality.
