I watched conan, which of novels are worth reading first? As I understand it is pulp fiction in some way, but I liked the character

Not a big Conan fan, but I remember liking tower of the elephant (Conan talks to an alien) and A Witch Shall be Born (Conans a guerilla partisan.)

Also just an FYI Conan in the movie and Conan in the books are different characters. Movie Conans motivated by vengeance, book Conans mostly just a greedy asshole. Honestly I sorta prefer the movie version

Just read the stories in publication order. I recommend grabbing The Coming of Conan, it's the first of three volumes collecting them all in order.

I also recommend The Broken Sword, Tolkein, Jack Vance and The Second Apocalypse

What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie?
I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky.
The subtle tongue, the sophist guile, they fail when the broadswords sing;
Rush in and die, dogs—I was a man before I was a king.

Why did you need to spoil? Retard.

See, Robert E. Howard's editor changed the order. Normally Conan tells his story as his memories go by, but later when his author got acknowledged they published the original order. That's the version you must seek.
Also don't expect too much lol, the first movie is waaaaaaaay better than the novels which are crappy pulp in the end…
