Yes it does, it is a natural law. Giving birth serves the preservation of the race. When someone has no race there is nothing to be preserved. See when you put this into the meta-context most mixed people come from people who disregard religion and pretty much everything that makes a society. So why should we attribute to these people the drive to be fertile and productive and august? It does not make much sense. A priori, the more a society is mixed and degenerate, the less it is fertile. Feeling low. Trying to ascertain why. Very often my low moods have somatic causes. Such as not enough sleep, hunger, caffiene/nicotine/alcohol withdrawl, hormonal imbalance due to cooming. I dont notice any difference in my life by physical cause. So there's something affecting my emotions. Could be enviornmental. I think it's down to a few causes. Cause the first is that my very distant family came to visit for a couple weeks and it left me with both a lingering sense of alienation as well as confusion about my current identity and culture. The next is that my mom and brother have totally spiraled ojt of control and I'm holding onto their emotional baggage for them. The third is a sense of disappointment and disillusionment with two areas of my life. The first is school. I returned to university and expected to find a "college experience" which would open my life after being shut down for years on account of covid. I feel like I dont fit in and struggle to connect with my peers. The next point is my church. I'm having doubts. I'm starting to think that I only converted out of desperation. I also feel like I dont fit in with them lately. My family's visit brought this to the forefront. They were shocked that I am religious and seem almost disappointed and ashamed. If my dad didnt raise me estranged from them then my value set would be very worldly. It seems to me that the pleasures of a worldly life are something I've always wanted but could never have. I dont reqlly know what I want but I feel incapable of achieving anything. I cannot build community, find meaning, have fun, get a good job or make friends. I am just universally frustrated in every area of life.

I was struck.

Read it and find out for yourself. I myself read the Baldick translation, but this time around I picked up the Oxford edition with the translation by Constantine. Compare a few passages and pick whichever one you like best, but Sentimental Ed is Flaubert at his most personal. It is one of those books where as time goes by the way you view the book varies. You can argue that any book could have that effect but Sentimental Ed just does it for me. You should definitely read it if you're young I'm guessing you're around my age judging by how you're writing (20 or so). There are particularly snobby aspects of the novel but feel very welcome. It has a Balzacesque narrative that really tears at you every once and a while.
