Can someone give a synopsis of Zizek's most highly regarded ideas? I hear the name thrown around a lot here and occasionally in some alternative medias but I've yet to encounter any actual discussion of his philosophy.

This video is a good introduction to many points he brings up.

But fundamentally he is a lacanian philosopher. The Pervert's Guide to cinema is also a good place to start.

I liked his documentary called Cinema = Freudian.

It was nice how he took 30 second snippets of films out of their context and used it to prove that Cinema = Freudian.
