I can't read more than 20 pages at a time without getting extremely sleepy. Does this get better with time or am I screwed?

Read 20 pages every day and you're still reading more than 99% of people.
Also, not /lit/erature, fag.

Consistency is key. Depending on the type of books you read, and the life you lead, twenty pages can be a lot. You're probably just not used to being in a more relaxed and low-stimulation state. You'll adapt anon.

Gets better with time. Fiction will be easier obviously, non-fiction is a lot more work and you should be taking notes as you go. Read slow if you have to, even if it sucks. If the book is presenting a slew of unfamiliar concepts, do the work and take the notes. When it comes up again, you'll probably have forgotten stuff but write about it again anyway. Do that enough, you'll be fine.

20 pages every day is a perfectly reasonable regimen.

>> No.22766951

It's something people don't usually consider, but: make sure you're reading under a bright light :)
Even try reading from your computer screen, if that helps.

Just pick up a book and start reading, you lazy neet.

As with everything, it gets easier with practice.
