>/lit/ related YouTube channel
>views rarely go above 100
>usually a professor or someone who loves reading as a hobby and wants to give his input
>Videos are 30 minutes to an Hour Long
>Some are even in the form of Lectures

Why do they do it?

We are no different than jazz musicians and poets. Nerds attached to an ever dying medium. At least musicians can make money.

If you don't do it for the money an audience of 100 is actually not too bad. You couldn't reach that many IRL.

The best channel I know has 1640 subs.

They want to add to the void? I don't get it either anon.

And yet not a single one says anything worth listening to in their “analyses” since OP couldn’t even mention an example in his dumb frogposting greentxt

Alright recommend me some jazz. Murakami's keeping jazz alive by name-dropping music in his books.

The best literature channel I know has 47k subs and usually has between 2k-10k views, depending on the topic.

It's a logic fallacy to think something is good because it is popular. Many of the best videos I've seen on literature or philosophy come from an adjunct making a video for his small section, they even include assignment information. Quaintness is something I seek on YT.

There’s this guy named Scott Masson on YouTube who I think deserves a lot more views

The truth is that quality education, discussion, all this is very unpopular especially nowadays. This is the most dumbed down and useless the human person has ever been.

Looks pretty cool, thank you anon. Not a huge overlap with my own areas of interest but there's a lot of good and seemingly approachable stuff there, could be a good resource for anons looking to get up to speed on the history of English poetry.

you put the answer in the post. they love reading and want to give input. those channels are a million times better than the typical "attractive women gives her shitty opinions in under ten minutes" channels.
