Competitions are all starting to do this but not because the covers are good. They know putting ai wins x award for first time gets clicks. Every photography competition ever was pulling this truck too. Outrage controversy etc, they know it will get clicks, in a year or 2 nobody will care and ai will stop winning anything.

The Pulitzer Prize Board appoints over 100 jurors. If they can't reach a majority, they don't issue an award at all. If an AI wins the Pulitzer, it would have to be pretty damn convincing.

The idea of an AI with consciousness, feelings, or motivations is still science fiction and speculation. AI just mimics it's UNDERSTANDING of data it's been trained on.

We can already train a model - in minutes - to give responses similar to the responses of a particular person and to mimic their appearance accurately. Corporations have more rights than people anyway. Having an ai that closely mimics you and manages your trusts forever is probably close enough to immortality to suit the vanity of many. Again, if you think about it for 5 seconds you realize that even if that AI is conscious it's not you, it's a copy. You still end up dying. I don't see how this could tickle anyone's vanity, at least with a space program you're around to see it working
