Is there any famous novel or short story beginning with the word "Suddenly"? I can't think of one off-hand. "Suddenly" would make an excellent first word. I would want to read the second word for sure.

Admittedly, one of Elmore Leonard's ten rules for writing was

but he doesn't know everything.
