>also a general Sig/lit/ thread

Tell me one book that has influenced your life so much that you have become a better person.

Finding a bunch of bullshit to read and talking about a bunch of bullshit to read instead of actually doing anything is the modern /lit/ pastime.

The only book on this list that I have read and can say made me a better person was solitary fitness. Do you want to talk about it?

Why is so much of that crap chart so contradictory? Specifically, with the meditation part of Buddhism when compared to the other books in the chart which are Christian? If you want to learn meditation whilst learning Christianity then learn Christian meditation and not Buddhist meditation lol.
Pic related, book on meditation on scripture as well for 'Habits, Productivity' (also you should get a book on how to pray the Rosary as that too is superb for meditation, specifically from the Saints as they are spiritual masters).

The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. It tells me that one can not eliminate his old habit. Instead he only can replace it with the new one with the same or higher level of pleasure. To make it more efficient, Duhigg suggests the readers to find support system :))

Each form has a slightly different goal
Christian is mainly focused around connecting with God so all that is focused on is who to do that better.(I haven't full look in to it though)

When you are trying to connect with your body more (the style I do) there is tons of small things to do like breathing patterns, muscle and bone visualizing, trying to map your whole body in and out with your mind

I also probly should have said they are not the same instead of not equal

You do know you can still do those flesh meditations without the need of the false Buddhist philosophy and spiritually wrong practices (such as 'mantras') right? Like I said, learn the Rosary as doing one Rosary (aka '5 Decades') will take at the least 25 minutes which you can perform all those things you have just mentioned, but with the Rosary.
Here's a priest on the meditating if u wanna watch this I guess https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J_lh9l-1zqA

How to Read a Book by Adler is a must read for any self help enjoyer.

>> No.22672709

I find productivity and sel-help/improvement books to be an insane time sink and an outright scam for the value they provide maybe with few rare exceptions (recipe and cooking books). More often than not the real useful tips without all the anecdotes and other bullshit can be summarized with a few page pdf file.
Instead of reading a book on how to get shit done just start doing what needs to be done, it's that easy. If you are not motivated (cope) or don't feel like doing it then it means the X activity is not that important/interesting after all and you have other shit to do.
>learning/memory/expertise
Can all be achieved through practice only, applies to every field, everyone has different learning techniques and should have developed one already
>social skills
A book won't teach you how to not behave like an autistic incel if you've never spoken to a human because you don't leave the basement, same for >women
>mental health/adhd
kek
>finance
Some knowledge in economics/finance is good to have
>physical health
Probably the few books worth reading because of a real risk to injure yourself, on the other hand internet and books are full of fake bullshit, a much better way to achieve the results faster is to try a professional coach.
People tend to overcomplicated everything, ideally you just need a pullup bar and a power rack but when someone hears the word "physical health" they immediately start thinking about the diet, progressions, volume and other details that really don't matter if they didn't start to lift. Same for everything else.
>productivity
If you find yourself reading a 1k page book on how to be productive you are literally not productive at all
>meditation
Kek
>critical thinking
Kek

My point is, just imagine what you could achieve if you put all the time required to read all that into one single activiy like learning a new skill, lifting etc.

Books about making the most out of your life despite the cards you have been dealt?
