I only read the introduction with the spoilers, plot summary, identification and discussion of themes, etc and move on to the next.

I never read forwards or preludes. Anything important should be in there from chapter 1. i just assume the prelude is meaningless fluff. Preludes are always so fucking boring, its always some pointless and jarring random scene thats just randomly inserted.
