the Hunger Games? Who has read them? I was surprised by the series. Even Stephen King gave it a good review. It was laden with suspense, and I seriously had problems putting it down.

I read the first one. It was meh. Not horribly constructed, in some ways unique. But nothing great.

Going to have to agree with this anon.

Its like a summer action flick: great action, shitty predictable story.

the book is a total rip-off of the movie "battle royale" which was a great movie.

Not sure if troll...

Just in case not...We're the product of 3 million years of hopeful wishing. The imagination fills in the blanks far better than reality.

I read them all, and I basically agree with >>2262634. The second was largely a rehash of the first one with a few twists, and the third one tried to make some grand statements about war and revolution and human nature but felt pretty trite overall. I think they were trying to cash in on the trend of violent/"mature" YA books that Harry Potter started.

Better than twilight?
