Many academics appropriately rant about Locke and his "liberalism" but by itself Lockean philosophy would likely not have degenerated much beyond what they had in 1800. The often attacked Frankfurt school came too late and was too irrelevant to drive social changes. John Stuart Mill is the true intellectual grandfather of wokeism and related movements.
