Has anyone else checked out this book? It was one of Pessoa’s favorite books and it’s amazing. Never have I come across a book that BTFOs sciencefags so thoroughly.

Definitely. I’m still reading it though but after a few entrees you’ll see if its for you or not. Im still toward the beginning and he already predicted “equality” amounting to mediocrity, democracy failing, subconscious influence on one’s actions, materialism killing human dignity, and some more ideas that I don’t even think were ever spoken of at the time. Man was brilliant.

That’s how I feel reading it. Im wondering why he got overlooked in the long run. I guess he didnt fit into the modern epoch.

Old fag, here. It had a readership in the late '80's, through the '90's. Possess a copy myself, but have never read it. Reading Darconville's Cat (finally) and a Jonathan Edwards compendium at the moment, but will be through both by the end of the week. Will check it out Sunday.

Oh, nice! Maybe it will gain popularity again
