Holy shit I can't believe scholastic greenlit a children's book series about alien war crimes
YA books used to actually be good?

I remember not really liking these. I preferred Goosebumps

The books were fucking awful; half of them were ghostwritten anyway. No one remembers reading all of them or that it was about children fighting a literal war, they just remember the covers. The conclusion came out years ago and came and went like a dry fart.

The ones from Tobias' POV were my favorite. Reading about eating a live rat sticks with you as a kid.

these books were trannycore. stick to goosebumps

They were pretty cool and they could do with a retelling. The prose wasn't always great but the story was amazing and I loved the characters.

I remember reading picrel in 3rd grade in the classroom during free time or something. Pretty sure I set it down after a few chapters to go do kid pix on the computers

They aren't, trannies just love to project their affliction onto everything bc it makes them feel less weird. The authors might indulge them on twitter but they weren't originally written with that purpose in mind
There are people who insist Marco is secretly gay because he jokingly calls Jake handsome once, same energy.

Animorphs wasn't even YA, it was middle grade, so intended for an even younger audience. I know I read a few of them, but don't remember anything about them.
