Well first off the whole damn picture is a juxtaposition. Firstly between the two girls, then between their crutches, the color of the girl on the rights dress and her stuffed animal, and finally between the age of the girl on the left, and the usual age of a smoker. So obviously loss of innocence, but it also shows how no matter how far along in your life you are you can never really shake off the need for a crutch, whether it be a teddy, a cigarette, or an ideology. everything else is just basic observations, like how the girl on the right seems to be looking at the other with respect, while the girl on the left doesn't even seem to acknowledge her existence. Honestly this picture could have been done in color, it wouldn't have made much difference really. These are just my observations, which are either completely off, or so basic as to not be worth mentioning, so there you go.
