your "ADHD" disappears soon as you read whatever you're interested in. it just clicks. you get hooked. aphantasia treated. math picked up. phd acquired. life improves. done. because of reading.

Make your own story! I mean that enthusiastically. I'm ADHD as fuck. Building my own world and characters has is the best creative outlet I've ever had. It all spans multiple media types. Writing, visual arts, songs, making a vidya. It might never actually come together completely but I have my own universe now :)

my advice would be to try reading jules verne or hemingway, pic related is a good choice. if you're really retarded just read children books, there's no shame in it really

Sort of. Cure as in make it go away, absolutely not. But when I can channel my ADHD into appropriate projects at appropriate times, the leftover spontaneity just becomes a bit of a quirk that others seem to actually admire. Apply my same idea to other areas of your life.

honestly it's not that far fetched. with degeneracy rampant the only people breeding are sub 115 iq retards and with the amount of neurotoxic shit they put in your guys' food that you've been eating since birth it actually would not be that far fetched to assert that nearly every person under the age of 28 is clinically retarded.

>I guess random sensory overload is just something I made up.
desu it's just a natural reaction to the dull normies' noisy world
you don't have a mental illness, you're just not a sub100iq drone
what you consider a failure to focus is the golem's baseline

>> No.22518906

it is not normal. you do not, as a normal person, hear something like styrofoam rubbing together or touch wet cardboard and suddenly feel like the walls are closing in, like you're about to throw up, or generally become a drooling wreck. I'll admit it's not as bad as some of my autistic friends. one of them becomes an actual tard in rain, nonverbal and all that. but you've done no research. you have no experience with the shit that actually entails ADHD. focus isn't an issue. I've done thousands of focus exercises and worked towards handling that shit better throughout my life. the issues come in the form of impulsivity, OCD (a common byproduct of ADHD), hyperfocus, and a shit memory. and sensory issues ofc. had to quit my warehouse job at 18 bc saran wrap makes me want to roll around fetal position in my own puke. it sounds like you've already made up your mind so it'll probably seem like I'm exaggerating, but I'm telling you now that zoomers have made this disorder what it is. it's not as common or simple as you think. it's not just "oh teehee I get distracted sometimes! I must have ADHD!" I fucking hate those people. it's a sister disorder to autism; parts of my brain are underdeveloped. all the trial drugs my tard parents put me on didn't help either.

>> No.22518937

>>22518413
true as that may be, you're the walking manifestation of the Dunning Kruger effect here you little tard. parts of my brain are underdeveloped, same as anyone with autism or ACTUAL, REAL ADHD. that being said, I've actually done my research as well as experienced the true symptoms. the zoomers you hate are the undiagnosed retard children who said "well, I get distracted a lot and I can't grasp basic concepts. must have ADHD!" their parents went along with it to rationalize birthing a tard. you know nothing about the actual disorder, only what you've seen in pop culture. I don't blame you for hating what you've seen, but we are not them.

IU got adhd too. I've found two ways to read easily.
1. get crossed (like one shot of your choice beverage and one decent hit off a cart)
2. be constantly ready to check myself for when my mind inevitably wanders

If you need to adjust into reading, start with short stories. No clue what your personal tastes are, but I like horror and weird fiction, so I'll reccommend you Arthur Machen and Steven Kings Short stories, which are actually pretty good.

I second this. Writing something you care about allows me to focus more and redirects my crazy ADHD energy. Even if the end result is crap, seeing a project through to the end can discipline the mind. And then revising the work can help you focus more.

Check out old Sci-Fi magazine anthologies. I probably should encourage you to first tackle your ADHD but, regardless, reading something with short stories will let you pick the ones you're invested in and skip over the ones you that haven't hooked you without wasting much time. It probably interest you in some of the greats.
