The problem with leftist apologetics of this sort is that you have a very hypocritical situation in the fact that leftist apologetics are simultaneously trying to balance the ideas that 1.) Intelligence or developed culture is not required to respect people as people (free subjects with full rights that we value or what have you), and 2.) Primitive people are just as intelligent/developed as highly cultured, advanced civilization. I find it stupid because I agree with 1. and find no need to try to justify 2. But because leftist apologetics are still mindraped by the subconscious notion that intelligence/culture is required to value someone, they have to form convoluted proofs of this intelligence/culture in primitive civilizations.
