I was just recommended In the Jaws of the Dragon by Eamonn Fingleton and assured that it's not as sensationalist as the cover makes it seem

It does seem sensationalist and maybe republican ? Is it?

SotS is great! Read Debord's own commentary on it, I would suggest. Also read Vameigem! He is other main star of SI. Revolution of Everyday Life is incredibly inspiring, maybe even check out Movement of Free Spirit. Knabb also has a good SI anthology, forget title but search it up. Think it may just be something like that as far as title.

On sorcery of spectacle angle, you can go deeper with Mauss's General Theory of Magic, then Mana of Mass Society, also Culianu, particularly eros and magic in renaissance explains comm science link w spirituality and then you can read Hounds of Actaeon. Search for Perfect Language and Modern Occult Rhetoric might help w understanding such hermeneutics too. Although if interested in secrets one must also read Strauss on esotericism even if only to disagree with his jewish nihilisms...

I found it hard to get through since I am not very well read in philosophy and some of the references he made
Would you say his commentary on it is easier or harder? Given I have read the original

Also wanting to read more on the maths/physics/economics genres, if anyone has suggestions here I would really appreciate it
