I was trying to find information about censored books, but all that comes up when you try to do so is stories about Republicans "banning books" (meaning they want to ban erotica from children's school libraries specifically; not anything from public book stores for adults).

The reason I started searching for this is because I was curious about the 4th best selling book of all time — "Ten Little Niggers". The title is of course censored to "And Then There Were None" but I am struggling to find information about whether or not the actual contents of the book are censored as well, but it's extremely difficult to find; both because of articles about just the original title of the book, but also because finding information about censorship in books is seemingly entirely littered with videos and articles about Republicans "banning books".

Any advice on just finding any information about books with its contents censored in America would be appreciated — specifically works written in English, like Agatha Christie's, since translations make this even more complicated.

Try learning some google dorking.
For example, to help weed out a lot of the modern internet shit, you can use the 'daterange' keyword followed by the number of days since Jan 1, 4713 BC for the dates that you want to search between.

Also, your post makes it seem that you're looking for information about whether the book is censored, not an actual copy of the book. Adjusting the dates helps remove a lot of the sensationalized articles of the late 2010s.

Aside from publishing companies just not publishing certain books, modern censorship is the refusal of shelf space by bookstores and being ignored by mainstream press. Off of the top of my head, recent examples for each of those are a book written about the Trucker Protest in Canada (it was selling well online but Indigo refused to give it physical space in their store and had a public row with the publisher over it) and the NYT refusing to put Jordan Peterson's first book on its bestsellers list.

It's censorship, anon. You're knit picking. Suppression is part of censorship and even more key now that controlled amplification and deamplification exists on social media. Not a book but look at the journalism surrounding the Biden influence peddling scandal. On the one hand you had everything to do with it initially censored and now you have minimal mainstream coverage of information related to it. It's arguable that the initial censorship gave them the ability to continue to ignore the biggest political scandal of modern times.

It's difficult to say if this level of censorship has always existed and is only evident now due to the internet, it's likely we wouldn't know about Hunter Biden or Jordan Peterson if social media didn't exist, or if it's reactionary because of pushback against traditional elites.

Jordan Peterson only sold his book despite the NYT censoring his title from the list because of a high social media profile. Anyway, who knows if he'd even be able to come to prominence now because things have gotten even worse in some ways.

If you want to know about censored books there are four things you should look up:
1. "sensitivity readers." This is censorship by a thousand cuts. They think by making the book "still available" it isn't censorship, but what they're actually doing is replacing the true work with their new censored version of it. Sensitivity readers are censoring the works of Mark Twain, Roald Dahl, and Ian Flemming, to name a few.
1a. Similarly, there are versions of the Quran that are purposefully mistranslated by sensitivity readers. These passages are commonly about how to buy or sell slaves, how to circumcise women, and other barbaric practices Allah approves of.
2. Books banned on Amazon, such as Culture of Critique.
3. Antelope Hill Publishing. They're trying to bring back censored books like The Turner Diaries to the public, so now there's an effort to censor the publisher.
4. Manifestos. For a while the only version of Mein Kampf in the US was a heavily censored translation missing more than half of the original contents. Police tried to hide Brenton Tarrant's manifesto after his shooting spree. Police still haven't released the manifesto of Audrey Hale, the tranny who shot up a school of kids in Nashville earlier this year.
