Whenever someone asks this, some dumbass reccomend Book of the new sun or black company. Don't listen to them. They're morons. They're nothing like the atmosphere/general feel of dark souls. I haven't found an equivalent. Darksouls is largely wordless in it's storytelling. And so I think by nature a book in similar vein should have no singular protagonist we follow, or if we do, should have no large community to engage with. There should only be the occasional survivor or wanderer, because dark souls is post-apocolyptic. Unironically, the Road is probably closer to Dark Souls than any of the previously mentioned books. But it's not gothic or possess any of the mishmash of architectural styles present in the games. But that's fine because what you'd be searching for is general feel. Honestly, I'd love a book where it's just following Patches as he observes the lands. Maybe catches glimpse of the chosen undead now and then. Maybe someone who reads dystopians regularly can offer some suggestions.

I think what makes Dark Souls an interesting narrative experience is the player's ability to piece together information from obscure, conflicting sources, use context clues to unravel meaning, and engage directly in the narrative-building process. Most books, and especially novels, do not operate like this. They, quite obviously, tell the reader a story. Maybe something like House of Leaves comes closer?
