When it comes to cataloging the books you read, when and where should you cut it off? I'm not adding picture books to my list, but I will include books I first read 20 years ago.

Why?

I start with books that weren't specifically written for children, but I started reading Larry Niven at eight years old so that might not be workable for you.

There are a few issues with going back too far.
>I don't remember enough about them to make a rating for them. Everything gets rated.
>I was a good reader as a kid and a lot of the shorter stuff I consumed basically instantly.
>Some of them blur together. I know I read some Hank the Cowdog books back in 1999-2001 but I'm not sure WHICH ones I read.
>Children's books, outside of the classics everyone knows, aren't talked about, so there's no way to jog my memory. Even series, like Horrible Harry, are hardly mentioned, much less those few books with a deaf kid, an invisible kid, and a girl.
>The existing issues of trying to remember which books I read since ~2001 is an enormous task.

Why do you care? Does it make a difference when you read Hank the Cowdog? Does putting Hank the Cowdog on some visual list do something for you? Seems like undiluted autism to me

Where do you we think are?

Yeah basically I include YA since I read them when I was a kid so for me then it was still a proper book and I didnt read enough of them to be a significant percentage of my total books read. If I have 180 books read, maybe 20 are YA. But also, such a list is obviously just for yourself so just be true to yourself.
