Hey /lit/, I want to have my mind blown. I'd prefer philosophy but fiction is fine. Just something that will blow my hair back.

his nose would not grow. the statement is true. sometime in the future, his nose will grow. nothing about his statement indicates that his nose will grow as a result of the statement. Leo is a pleb in this comic.

Capitalism and schizophrenia is good, but a damn difficult read.

I've been told 'being and time' is good but I refuse to read it.

i hear Nietzsche wrote some interesting philosophy as well.

Not quite sure what you're into OP, really need more detail to recommend you a good book.

If you're hard up for something to read, try the religious texts of all major world religions.

It's criminal to be so opinionated and yet so ignorant at the same time.

I've read Nietzsche. The way I downplayed him, that was a joke.

Ever notice how philosophies can generally be summarized very very succinctly, while philosophers take books upon books to express what they mean?

That would be the main reason I don't read much philosophy aside from summaries. They get aroused by their own intellect and babble on and on for irrelevant page after irrelevant page.

But that would mean predestined fate.

OP here, capitalism and schizophrenia looks promising. thanks /lit/

First off, indeed, Nietzsche would be my recommendation as well. Really puts things into perspective, much like (Plato's) Socrate's dialoques.

And somehow i found most of the commentaries in the philosophy i read unbelieveably more insightfull than the text it self. Like, nearly 300 pages of zarathustra, and then this Danish bloke explains it all in 11 pages, baffling my mind. Made me read it again.
