Cialdini, Sun Tzu and Machiavelli alone disprove your notion

Read whatever you want. Pursue questions you actually have and want answers to. Are you choosing these titles because you think you *need* to read them?

No they confirm it beyond a reasonable doubt

If you are new to reading then your list is actually not that bad at all, it definitely skews heavily self-help-ish but if that is what interests you then go for it. I am honestly surprised no one has posted the token infinite jest or gravitys rainbow in here yet. If you read this stuff and want to come back and discuss it Russian lit is popular on here as well as philosophy.

A lot of these books are for new college grads with anxiety about their useless degree so they think these books will alleviate that and make them “successful”. The reality is there is almost nothing actionable in this entire stack of books and you will really just waste your time. None of these books are really super technical manuals you need to totally read every line of.

My advice would be to literally watch a YouTube summary of any nonfiction book before considering purchasing it. You get the most important points in <1% of the time.

You should be focused on learning actual skills to make yourself more useful, like sales or investing or project management.

If you just want to foster a love for reading I suggest Borges collected fictions (short stories), Bukowski essential poetry or Tao Te Ching. These are books where you can just open a random page and read something genuinely brilliant and profound in <5 minutes.

Other people on this board will tell you to start with the Greeks or something but it seems like you’re trying to just get smarter, not learn more about western literature. I earn mid 6 figures at 30 years old in a career path unrelated to my degree so take my advice if you want a similar result

PS my penis is tiny

this is the booklist that everyone who wants to be successful starts off with

after you read most of this list you will realise that it is impossible to teach you how to be more successful than you already are, and the writers are laughing all the way to the bank, having just made money off your dreams and aspirations

with the exception of all the books that were written >100 years ago, those are based

but you've got to experience to know. more reading is never a bad thing.

good luck on your journey op

The most horrendous list. Should be named how to be a backstabbing slave.
