L Ron Hubbard's pulp fiction is genuinely good, top tier even. how long until people realize?

I have no idea.
"Mission Earth" was a single story spread out over 10 volumes, and not once did it lag. I've read it twice now.
His short stories were amazing, too. I really need to track down a copy of "Lives You Wished to Lead But Never Dared".

You have obviously never read Ron's fiction writing. It's top tier.
Say what you will about his religious work.

Wait until you cut through the SP propaganda and see how good his spiritual works are. This guy was really on to something.

Battlefield Earth was kind of okay but deeply stupid in places if you actually think about it.
Mission Earth couldn't keep its continuity straight even from one book to the next, every antagonist was far too incompetent to ever take seriously as a threat, and the constant political satire quickly became grating.
Ole Doc Methuselah was pretty good, I'll give him that. The protagonist felt a bit derivative of Heinlein's Lazarus Long character but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since I think he wrote it contemporaneously with Heinlein.

any recs besides the obvious stuff?
I've been listening to the audio dramas of his short stories and they're pretty entertaining.
How much of his stuff isn't digitized?

The other one I remember really moving me was "Final Blackout".
Just bought "Lives You Wished to Lead But Never Dared" off Amazon.
