I’ll start.

I’ve never finished Lolita. I just read the happy parts in the first half, stop reading, and repeat from the beginning.

im no expert on child development, but from what i've read sexual exploration and curiosity at young ages is a lot more common than we admit to ourselves.
when i was around maybe 10, me and my friend did a 'let's touch peepees' thing once and kissed just to try it, and never happened again.
point is we grow out of it, and know it's wrong, and feel bad about it and keep it to ourselves, as you have done. i think it's more common than you think.

That's fucked up. You were 13 it's not like you understood how wrong that is. Does your brother know about it? If no you should probably have that uncomfortable conversation or he may have mental issues and become a faggot.

My dad found a Kindle on the street and it still had someone's information on it when he gave it to me. I bought some books with the owner's debit card. I then felt bad and cleaned the data off the Kindle.

I get easily aroused by amorous scenes in books and have trouble concentrating unless I've released the jizz. And it's not erotic books I'm talking about; but books such as The Master and Margarita and The Norwegian Woods.

I am trying to get back into reading but it's hard for me.

I read occasionally up to middle school with stuff like 1984 and Perks of Being a Wallflower, but my attention span died somewhere and I just haven't been able to properly read a book outside of class. There have been some great reads from class like The Bluest Eye and Nickel and Dimed, but I cannot for the life of me pick up a book on my own volition.

I believe the problem is I always thought that I should only read what I OUGHT to read: the literary classics. I tried picking up Picture of Dorian Gray, Brave New World, Crime and Punishment, but at some point it felt like a slog. They were all very rich in ideas and prose but I didn't feel as invested as I ought to when reading.

Just yesterday, I decided to buy some books I've been meaning to read from B&E. Exquisite Corpse was among them and I was reading it on Internet Archive and it's been a while since I've felt so lost in the pages, when it didn't feel like reading words but getting drowned in this world within the pages. I decided to buy the physical copy and am trying to start reading it.

Yall can tease me however you like but I enjoy reading for the sake of reading, it feels much more fulfilling than reading long winded texts for validation.

Bro you shouldn't need to plan this out. It must come from within or your mind will just be forced to read. You should pick up whatever book you actually feel like reading, not the one you selected a month ago to be read.

if you'd like a nice, gentle introduction into the long-winded prose of the classics, you ought to pick up Brideshead Revisited. it's beautifully written and the most poignant pastiche of its time ever written, but the long passages with which Waugh loves to take you on journeys to Venice and Paris and Oxford always end where they begun, so you never get lost. the plot, for all its art, is simple: there are only four timeskips, and nobody pops their head in for a page in the first chapter only to become an essential figure in the thirtieth. you will not regret it, unless you are homophobic in which case you will immediately become a communist.
