Pierce Brosnan wrote a book?

is it a series worth reading? I was about 100 pages into the first one and just couldn't do anymore. Just felt like a Mary Sue character aimed at teenagers with added communism and angst

Haven't read it yet. Grudgingly waiting for the paperback so it matches the rest of the books.

Yes

The first book is definitely more YA-leaning than the others and is heavily Hunger Games inspired. I'm pretty sure the author was initially trying to market it as YA, but ran into the same problem every male author with a straight male protagonist does with either needing to go Adult or MG instead. The following books are much more adult in tone.
