For me, it's white nights spent mad at myself for not doing what I had to do while hoping that I'd get up early the next morning for a fresh start, then wake up all tired and broken down in the late afternoon and get mad at another wasted day. I stay up late hoping that somehow, I'll do it in the dead of night. Repeat.
For your book request, I suggest reading Oblomov.

You don't know exactly what to do because you set your goals to high or formulated them too vaguely. Knowing that you need to find friends and a gf or write daily and read more won't help you. You need to think about what would be the first steps to achieve those goals.

Repressed emotional issues. Too mich anxiety and shame due to past experiences probably with your parents and now you fear some sort of punishment or exposure if you were to actually be happy or successful

no you don't

if you truly NEEDED to do it, you would. our bodies are terrific survival machines honed by billions of years of evolution. you can't outsmart instinct

there's always a subconscious reason why you don't think doing that thing will help your survival. find that first

Your brain is rotten from psychobabble. I recommend a break, followed by clear thoughts of your own, not of your psychobabble priest.

Psychoanalysis has literally zero evidence to back any of it up. It's the schizo ramblings of a madman.

This. Also, there is an element of prediction as well. Your mind is not convinced that this thing you want to do will even work because you haven't demonstrated that to yourself through experience. That's why you have to push through that block in the beginning, get some tangible emotional/physical benefit and then your brain is basically hooked and will remind you "hey this thing we did that time really worked, lets do it again".
