I lost the sauce. I've been trying to write my detective novel since december, and today it all fell apart again, and I threw it all out. How do I get back into feeling inspired again? I feel like I can't even tell a simple story anymore. Do I just need to read more and it'll come back?

Perhaps give it a rest and come back to it in a few days. This happens to literally every writer.

Why not try reading something typically out of your interest that will invigorate you? Afterall, till the mid 20th century, writers of every genre were inspired by everything besides their own endeavours.

>needing to be inspired
the only cure to that is living life...socialize, tell people about your story and it will enforce you to continue out of pressure
