iliad and odyssey are good if you like the way greeks write. same with the anabasis/xenophon's works.
l'etranger/the stranger is good
the sickness unto death is a good philosophy book
the ancien regime and the revolution by alexis de toqueville is the best historical analysis i've ever read
napoleon by andrew roberts is often recomended here and is good
richard m. nixon by conrad black I read last week and is good, but it is 1000+ pages so don't buy unless you want to read about nixon
