What are the chances of writing a successful book that is actually profitable?

>> No.22252218

Profitable in the sense of paying all your bills during the time you spent writing it? That is probably very hard. Profitable in the sense of you ending up in a net positive? You can probably manage that a couple of times.

With success and profit as your only metrics I recommend spending years absorbing content from a niche sexual fetish until you‘re enough of a prose wizard in the field to lift a few dollars off weirdos on the internet.

I’ve been writing for two of my own fictional worlds. I’ve shared some of my ideas and details and got positive feedback on them, but I’m not sure how to incorporate all my ideas into a coherent story. I’m not even sure where to even begin. Can anyone give me some much needed advice? Thanks in advance
