So, I want to calculate how much it would take me using the number of pages in the description of the website I use to pirate books, but I have some doubts with some of the authors in this list. I will only ask about the first row, and when I get done with that I'll probably do a post about the second one.

Herodotus: It says "History of the persian wars". In the website I use there are 4 books of his: "History - books 1-2" "History - books 3-4" "History - books 5-6" "The nine books of history". Which ones cover the persian wars?

Hippocrates: There are 8 books. They are named "Hippocrates treatments" from 1 to 8. Should I read all of them?

Plato: It says I should read "Dialogues". In the website there are Dialogues from 1 to 9, but there are also books with the names of the recommended works like "The Republic" or "Gorgias". Should I just read the books with the titles that are said in the list, instead of the books named "Dialogues"?

You should focus on learning English before trying the entire Western canon.

Why? The western canon starts with the greeks, and they didn't knew how to speak english.

You are never going to read it. Be free. Don't bother your hard drive. Just ask chatgpt for a summary. Enjoy that siesta you desperately need.

You are not helping. It's already tea time, why don't you go hail your dead queen and then drink a chamomile tea.

Herodotus wrote a single work divided into 9 books, you should read all of them.
Idk why Hippocrates is on that list since afaik the Hippocratic Corpus is just medical texts, it's up to you if you read them or not but I don't think you'll enjoy them if you're not particularly interested in medicine and want to see what it was like at the time.
Labeling the dialogues with a number instead of calling them by their name is extremely retarded, just read the ones with names.
Also before you even begin, read a textbook on ancient Greek history.

Should Hunter S Thompson be in the western canon?

You don’t need to read 75% of this
