When did you accept that Samwise Gamgee was the true hero of LotR?

>> No.22225042

>>22225041
Always. Also Rorschach is the true hero.

>> No.22225044

The real hero is the guy who puts down LotR and picks up something worth reading, instead.

Also, when did LOTR artwork get so fucking ugly? I don't remember the artwork back then being so bad.

Frodo isn't written as a particularly sympathetic character. Often he comes across as a whiny faggot, and sometimes as a condescending prick.
Sam is a character who literally does nothing wrong from start to finish.

>> No.22228015

it was intuitively obvious to me ever since i was young, but i would also not be so quick to mitigate frodo's role as a hero. frodo and sam required eachother in order to fulfill their mission and they would not have made it without eachother. the central Christ-like aspects of the two characters are frodo's sacrifice and sam's humility

Have you read it? The Hobbit is a simple children's book where a shorty and his pals kill a dragon. As basic as you can get. It has nothing to do with Gormenghast and shows little of what made LOTR famous (other than hobbits). Point doesn't stand at all.
