Okay guys I'm depending on you here, not usually a visitor to /lit/. I'm going out with a librarian and I want to seem well read, what books should I talk about, I can handle looking up the synopsis or general summaries myself.

Dont lie about what books you like and not. It'll come crashing down on you eventually.

Find something else to talk about. I doubt librarian would want to talk about their dailywork anyway.

Don't pretend to be well read, start reading and become well read. I'm sure he or she won't be snobbish about it if you present yourself as an enthusiastic beginner. I'd imagine a librarian partner could also be quite helpful in that situation too.

Even if you don't want to do that, you shouldn't lie. It's really obvious when people lie about reading something to someone who has actually read it -- you'll just make yourself look like a tool.
