Why would you reference a movie in your book? Much less mention an old movie that nobody has ever heard of? Most new movies are completely forgotten within 2 years.
Is literature so archaic at this point that we reference pop culture movie horseshit now?

This isn't even mentioning the vocabulary of the text (I'm going to assume the whole novel) is written on a 5th grade level anyway. Mass literacy was a huge mistake.
