Based or Cringe?

Cringe. The ethics of Jesus were nothing special divorced from divine authority. There are tons of ancient philosophers who had much more fleshed out views, and better ethics than Jesus. If you don't believe he was God incarnate and walked on water, healed people and calmed storms then throw away the lot, don't cling to the Bible and pretend Jesus was a great "moral teacher" because he wasn't. He literally told people to leave their families and to ignore burying their dead to follow him and engage in extreme asceticism.

atheist meme that no one has ever actually read
no one even reads the actual bible
conceptually equally to "i move the bibles to the fiction section".
like congrats on erasing parts of the text that founded half of the world's empires. i'm sure there was nothing valuable there.

Jefferson wasn't an atheist

The part that makes people believe they're fighting for a higher cause.

You don't really know anything about Jefferson or the christian empires.

IIRC he didn't actually publish it, he just cut out the lines he liked and glued them into a book for his personal use, which is pretty based. I think the book being available for purchase is cringe tho.

He also rewrote it and corrected outdated King James era syntax and misspellings.

i don't really have an opinion on it except that you would have to be real life retarded to pay for a copy. it's just excerpts from the bible might as well get the whole thing

i didn't say he was

the entire thing is relevant to the history of the world. but you have 80iq so you probably think by "valuable" i meant "good info to follow".
if you can't think of a single major world event that can be traced back to a part of the new testament involving miracle then you shouldn't be talking at all. it's not difficult. i won't point one out to you, if you don't know one then you should fuck off and read a book before you open your mouth.

I read it and it really doesn't work. Because he combined multiple gospels, it includes some of the same events multiple times, for example it has Jesus cleansing the temple twice. It also keeps some of the miracles like the exorcisms, so it's a weird half-demythologised mess.

If you want a short gospel, just read Mark.
