Can I learn just by reading? Or at least remember what I read?

>> No.22092614

You will learn the most in 6 months of NEETing at home, reading books.
> b-but NEETing is le bad! You have to support the economy, do something, le daily structure!
Stay at home and you won't encounter such dorks.

Honestly, I really enjoy my life of working a menial job and reading and discussing stuff in my off time. My only problems are my PTSD flashbacks and mental issues I have and also the people harassing me indefinitely. Without those, my life would be perfect.

To memorize lists of things use the Loci method.
To remember meaning relate the presented ideas to other ideas. That creates a web of relationships and each idea develops a kind of location in idea space.

Unironically, get off your phone/vidya/e-celeb schlop and read more and spend time considering what the author is actually trying to say. Do this for a couple hundred hours and your memory will improve. Also, diversify what you're reading, avoid sticking to only the /lit/ top-100 midwit essentials. I would recommend, alongside fiction, books about a favourite topic (philosophy, art, poetry, etc.) or period in history(Greece, Rome, Renaissance, etc.). You may also want to try your hand at learning a new language.
