Can you elaborate? I'm deciding whether or not I should purchase it. I've only heard good things so far.

It's a really superb novel, but certainly not deserving of the BEST NOVEL OF ALL TIME from Harold Bloom.

That honour belongs to Infinite Jest and Pet Sematary.

It had no plot and then in the middle of the book a character says (of a film she's watching) "It had no plot". Marvelous novel!

The plot is tracing the arc of a baseball from the pivotal Dodgers World Series in 1955 to the present day. We are allowed glimpses into the lives of those the baseball has affected, both directly and indirectly

What the fuck are you on that you didn't understand that.

I thought it was good. Like any long novel, some sections were enjoyable and some not. Stay away from it if you don't like slow books or books with little plot. Typical DeLillo, it would seem like.

Great book.

I read half of it during a flight when there was nothing else to do.

Soon as I got off the plane and could get another book I did.

A few sections were nice but it was mostly, what I read, 400 pages of dull.
