You can look up disgraced former New York governor Andrew Cuomo for a much clearer example of the behavior and outcomes that you are trying to impute to DeSantis. It would also (even) be fair(er) to go after Trump himself on this particular point, insofar as he caved to Fauci and TPTB, thereby costing himself the election and Ukraine a substantial portion of territory (Putin would not have tried it while Trump was in office), but you don't sound to me like an honest broker, more like someone who frequents /news/.

These faggot conservatives have the lamest, most meaningless things to say in their gay little memoirs about how much they love freedom and America and how Western values are great and honorable but also we need to fight for the rights of niggerfaggots and democracy.
The total absent-mindedness of the cover of this book perfectly encapsulates modern US conservatism

the 2024 POTUS election is going to be hilarious. The elephant in the room at all times will be "why are two senile men, who can barely construct a coherent sentence, running for president" and none of them will address it as they're both guilty of it.

I wonder if any of them will piss or shit themselves in public? Pretty sure Trump already wears an adult diaper.

>Reagan was not merely a bad president, not merely a popular president for the sports team that I happen to dislike. No, more than this, he was a DISASTROUS president, I must underline this point for emphasis

People don't bother to evaluate their claims coolly anymore, least of all in this sort of posting environment. They simply say what they feel, and this does apply to both sides (we're talking about American politics so direction-brainletism applies as a valid framework for partial understanding).

You can try to make some sort of argument that Reagan was a bad president (I don't like policies XYZ), but to claim that Reagan of all people was disastrous in most any sense is simply silly. He functioned well in his role as Figurehead American Cheerleader, presided over the decline and ultimate fall (left to his second) of the Soviet Union, and enjoyed and encouraged something approximating to peak human development in the American condition.

James Buchanan was a disastrous president. Even I will allow that reasonable arguments can be made that Trump was a "disastrous" president, although the honest thinker must involve Biden in that discussion (here, objectivity is impossible). There is very little about Reagan that could be argued to be disastrous (apart from pet issues XYZ which don't count). An appropriate analogue is Obama. I don't like Obama's policies and although the Obamacare rollout was the single worst domestic policy fuckup of my lifetime (all employers were confused by it), this still isn't disastrous.
Even the fact that Ebola got into the United States under Obama's watch (which turns out to be meaningles next to covid, of course) and ISIS did its thing towards the end of his lame duck period didn't have meaningfully negative impacts on American life in geeral. The fact is that the market rebounded quickly under Obama and things proceeded generally as normal. "Disastrous" involves a real shit-fan culture change for the worse, and this is how it applies to Buchanan, and can be argued to apply to Trump and Biden. I would say that Biden is genuinely disastrous, and it takes a real wonk to disagree with that.

The next president needs to not be a baby boomer, I think.

I have never understood why people even read or buy this shit. It's heavily edited and censored, and even the final draft is heavily sanitized also, resulting in a lifeless and personality-drained read that makes anyone who doesn't give a shit about politics or doesn't know anything about politics ZERO reason to actually sway someone's mind. Even the title of this book proves my point:
>The Courage to Be Free
What the fuck does that even mean? Why not just have " My Blueprint for America's Revival by Ron DeSantis" as the title as that actually says something and is plain and simple.

It's essentially a groupthink thing where you already agree on said politician's/party's politics and these memoirs reinforce those ideas that you already agree with. A worthless read and a waste of time. Politics, especially American politics is absolutely fucking stupid, and there is way better shit to put your finite time on this Earth anyway.

We know more about people like Julius Caesar and Charlemagne than Barack Obama or Donald Trump, combined.

The claim that Reagan was a TERRIBLE president doesn't withstand scrutiny, as I've said. None of what I wrote was unreasonable or naive, and you are incapable of concretely addressing any of it, which is why you're playing the "too stupid to engage with" card. If you had something real (on Reagan's relative performance, the central issue), you'd play it. You wrote just enough to indicate having read the post and some willingness to engage with it, belying your little stance.
