There are countless works in which Satan and the demonic is brought to life, from classic works like Faust, The Master and Margarita, light humorous ones like Good Omens, to a myriad other horror lit titles, the Devil definitely got his due.

What can I read that shows the other side, the celestial imagining of the Christian mythos.

Yeah, the title refers to an apocryphal story of Muhammed in which he got duped by the devil. One of the main characters in the novel is the arch angle Gabriel.

Fr. Chad Ripperger's Dominion gives a systematic angelogy from St. Thomas Aquinas's Summa Theologic - it's a stellar book and explains the orthodoxy immaculately (has an Impratur).

Sounds like you're looking for fiction books but if you want a real breakdown of the angelic hierarchies in Christian mysticism, picrel is considered authoritative.

For fiction, Edward Pearson's 'Chamiel' is a Tolkien-esque fantasy about the archangels.

Angels (and Demons): What Do We Really Know About Them? by Catholic professor/speaker Peter Kreeft is an easy to read question and answer format book about angels that cites scripture, tradition, and Doctors of the Church like Aquinas for answers to common questions about angels. I read it years ago when I first converted to Catholicism and enjoyed it, it's a fast read.

Funny you say that, been mulling it over for a couple of years now. Not to get off-topic but real quick, did you have any fallout with your family?

All things considered it was mostly okay for me with my family when I converted, it could have been worse. The most painful thing was that it seemed to solidify one of my siblings in making the exact opposite choices for her own life, becoming a more extreme liberal and now transgender (female to male.)
