I own a copy of TLOTIAT as a kind of novelty snapshot of how /lit/ used to be. Like finding an old iPod Touch full of pictures you thought were funny in middle school, but I can keep this on a shelf and pick it up when I'm old.
I also want to preserve it because I find it funny that if anybody goes through my books when I die, it'll be completely incomprehensible. When the last of us faggots finally croaks, some of these copies may still exist, and there won't be a single person on earth who will actually understand what's in them. The Finnegans Wake of shitposts.

>The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra
>The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra II: Miami
>The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra 3: Tokyo Drift & Kolsti's Adventures in the Everglades
all of these sound horrible but nostalgic in a pre-2013 sort of way

This >>22088726 is provably the most concise representation of the process. Shitposts on shitposts.

Threads about /lit/ publishing a book would pop up on a semi regular basis, enough to encourage some anon (plural) to establish a Google doc. They scoured "post your writing" threads for content and spammed any threads asking why /lit/ hadn't published a book.

It was maybe a time sensitive thing because memes still seemed like a subculture unifying joke, and not a political tool, so they carried a sense of joy and freedom, giving more momentum to the project as anon could open the document and spam anything with the latest memes, trashing any vain thoughts of writer anon who wanted their genius to grace the pages.

I'm not doing the process justice. But I'm pretty sure anyone who was around at the time has something in that book. I know I do. Fuck knows what. I need to get myself a copy

/lit/ has always been shit. If you're gonna clear your throat say something important

I'm not sure if I just want to believe in whatever novelty I come across

We used to say that society gets the politicians they deserve, now I'm sure that now politicians get the society they deserve
